Water Resource Management

Anzer’s water resources philosophy combines environmental sensitivity with innovative technical expertise to preserve and often control and contain the valuable resource that is water. The ability to protect this resource while managing its potentially devastating effects requires an ingenuity that can only be cultivated through years of study and experience. Anzer’s team of highly skilled, tenured professionals offers a wide range of time-tested solutions – from managing the flow of water to protecting the quality of this precious commodity.

Hydrologic, Hydraulic,  Flood Risk Modeling

Anzer has the technical resources, knowledge, and multi-disciplinary expertise to bring environmentally responsible water resources solutions that satisfy our clients’ needs and successfully address regulatory requirements. Our team of water management consultants confidently applies experiences gained in emerging technologies to provide technical solutions that are sustainable, robust, and based on sound scientific and engineering analysis.

Anzer River Management System

The Anzer River Management System (ARMS) is the automated information system used by the water resources management agencies to support its river control management mission. ARMS is an integrated system of hardware and software that begins with the receipt of hydromet, watershed, and project status data. This data is then processed, stored, and made available through a user friendly interface to the river manager to evaluate and model the watershed. Both model and processed data can be displayed and disseminated in tabular, graphical, and/or geo-spatially resulting in an effective decision support system.

Types of incoming real-time data include: river stage, reservoir elevation, gage precipitation, spatial precipitation, quantitative precipitation forecasts and other hydro-meteorological parameters. These data are used to derive the hydrologic response throughout a watershed area, including short-term future reservoir inflows and local uncontrolled downstream flows. The reservoir operation model flows are then processed to provide proposed releases to meet reservoir and downstream operation goals. Then, based on the total expected flows in the river system, river profiles are computed, inundated areas mapped, and flood impacts analyzed.
